Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect. (Rom. 12:2)
Our theme verse from Romans calls all of us (the “you” in the verse is plural) to the pursuit of sustainable vitality through innovative and persistent leadership for the church. As clergywomen, we answer this call with laity in congregations of all sizes, in urban, rural, exurban, and suburban settings. We are experienced and seasoned, young and eager, of many nationalities, races, and ethnicities. Vital ministry knows no boundaries of diversity or size. Vitality does not rely on large budgets or institutional power to flourish. The 2015 edition of the WellSprings Journal gathers perspectives and stories of vitality from academia, the pulpit, students, conference, and denominational leaders. God speaks through all these voices, calling us to transformation and shared leadership.
